B-Stock Managed Parcel gets mobile device lots out of the warehouse about a day and a half faster than buyer-arranged shipping. On eligible listings, you choose your delivery speed, see the shipping cost before you bid, and pay for the lot and shipping in one transaction. B-Stock then sends the labels straight to the seller’s warehouse, so your lot is ready to ship as soon as payment clears.
For buyers moving volume, that adds up to faster turnaround on every lot. Here’s how it works.
No booking a carrier, no generating your own label, and no back-and-forth with the warehouse.
Managed Parcel joins the shipping options you may already know, like Buyer Arranges, Flat Rate (formerly known as Fixed Cost), and Standard Shipping. Want a refresher on how each one works? Read Shipping: B-Stock Shipping Methods.
The video covers what a buyer actually does: finding a parcel listing, choosing a delivery speed, changing an address or service before payment, and tracking every box from the order page.
Managed Parcel quotes shipping for your selected delivery speed and address, then adds it to the landed cost breakdown on the listing before you bid. As a result, you know your full cost going in, not after the fact.
For buyers working volume across many small lots, that’s the difference between estimating margin and pricing it.
Not every lot calls for the same service. For example, inventory heading into a refurbishment queue or harvested for parts can take standard transit. Specific models, high grades, or devices already committed to a customer, on the other hand, often can’t.
Managed Parcel shows the services available for that lot and destination, each with its cost and transit time, and your choice applies to that order alone. The total updates as you change the service, and your delivery address and service level stay editable until payment.
Once B-Stock generates the labels, tracking appears on your order, with a number for each box and full scan history in one view.
Mobile devices commonly ship as hazardous materials. Handsets contain lithium-ion cells, which come with packaging, labeling, and declaration requirements, and not every carrier service accepts them.
With Managed Parcel, each listing includes the lot’s hazardous-materials status, which carries through to the rate quote and the label. That way, you only see services valid for that lot, so there’s no declaration to sort out yourself and no risk of a shipment the carrier won’t accept.
B-Stock doesn’t hold or handle inventory. Every lot ships from the seller’s own facility. About 75% of mobile orders on B-Stock ship buyer-arranged, where the buyer books a carrier and sends a label to the warehouse. With Managed Parcel, the label is already there at payment, so there’s nothing for the warehouse to wait on.
Across three years of mobile orders, buyer-arranged lots took 4.5 business days on average to leave the warehouse, and more than 25% took longer than five. By comparison, lots that didn’t need a label from the buyer left about a day and a half sooner.
Below is a comparison of lots that required a label from the buyer against lots that didn’t, from November through January, when device volume on B-Stock runs 20 to 30% above a normal month. That surge comes from holiday trade-in promos and sellers clearing inventory before fiscal year end.
This measures the wait before a lot ships, not transit time, which depends on the service you choose.
Most lots in both groups ship within five business days. The difference shows up at the edges: lots that don’t wait on a buyer label are more than 3x as likely to ship within two business days, and far less likely to still be in the warehouse after five.
In other words, that’s time back for testing, grading, listing and reselling.
Managed Parcel is live on a growing set of mobile lots, and each listing shows the shipping rate before bidding opens.
The difference is who arranges the freight and how the price is set.
Buyer Arranges: you arrange pickup or book the carrier, purchase the label on your own account, send it to the seller’s warehouse, and follow up with the warehouse until the lot is picked up. You pay B-Stock for the lot and your carrier for the freight.
Flat Rate: you pay a fixed shipping price regardless of your delivery address.
Standard Shipping: similar to Managed Parcel, you pay the calculated cost to your delivery address displayed on the listing, but this method is used for pallets of inventory.
Parcel listings from sellers who have turned on this functionality. Every listing shows its shipping method before you bid.
The list of carriers approved by the seller will be available in the listing. If more than one is approved, you will get an option to choose.
Yes, until you pay. After you pay, the address is locked and your order ships there.
Yes. Every delivery needs a signature, so have someone on site to receive it.
Yes. Shipments on eligible listings are insured against loss or damage in transit as part of B-Stock Managed Parcel.
This is a new benefit to B-Stock buyers, so transit risk is not something you need to worry about. If a shipment is lost or damaged on the way, the loss is covered.
Loss or damage that happens in transit. Inventory discrepancies (condition, grading, or quantity) are a problem with the lot, not the shipping, and go through the normal B-Stock dispute process. Those go through the regular dispute process, which has not changed. If you are not sure which one applies, contact B-Stock support.
International shipping is not available yet. Managed Parcel is available for US addresses only, not including U.S. territories (such as Puerto Rico), so keep arranging your own shipping and sending export documents to the sellers who allow international deliveries, as you do today. If you select a non-US address, you will see: “Parcel delivery is not available for this address. Other shipping methods may still be available.”
Every January hands retailers the same reckoning: a wave of returns and unsold seasonal stock landing in the warehouse all at once. Warehouse capacity tightens, capital gets tied up, and traditional resale channels face more supply than they can absorb. …
