B-Stock is so excited to welcome Arthur Vannakittikun to the Software Engineering team this summer! As a summer teammate, we know Arthur will be an incredible asset to the company. Arthur is currently studying Computer Science at San Francisco State University. Learn a bit more about Arthur and see his answers to some questions below.

Q: What are you most excited to learn at B-Stock?

I am most excited about learning how the front-end of B-Stock website functionality works and how it is built.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? (Or still want to be!)

When I was younger, I wanted to be an animation artist. Fun fact, I used to animate a bunch of silly tongue-in-cheek stickman fight scenes with Adobe Flash when I was in middle school.

Q: What is one piece of advice you’ve been given that has stuck?

One piece of advice that stuck with me when I was younger is, “If you don’t try, you’ll never know.”

Q: Where can people find you after work or school?

After work and school, you can find me either on my computer coding or in my studio singing and producing new music.

Q: What is a hidden talent of yours?

One hidden talent of mine is that I can sing. I love to sing corny love and heartbreak Pop and R&B songs (when no one is around of course).

Q: What plays in the background while you work (music genre, podcast, news)?

Usually, what plays in the background while I work or code is 90s R&B, with artists including but not limited to: Chris Brown, Miguel, Ne-Yo, or Usher. When I need to concentrate I listen to lofi hip-hop.

Q: Where would you go with unlimited PTO?

If I had to go somewhere with unlimited PTO, I would go to Hawaii because everyone knows you’ll have an enjoyable and spectacular time there.

Q: What do you do when you’re stuck creatively? How do you get the creative juices flowing?

Whenever I get stuck in the creative side of my work, I take a break to go for a quick jog at my local beach or lift weights.

Q: What’s something you’ve accomplished that you’re proud of?

Something that I’ve accomplished that I am proud of is winning an award for my first hackathon. We had only three days to complete an application and I almost talked myself out of trying to participate in the event because of my doubts. But I was surprised to find out that my team was very friendly and cooperative throughout the whole event. In the end, we were astonished when we saw our project on the list of awards.

Q: What is one thing you hope to contribute to B-Stock?

One thing I hope to contribute to B-Stock is my creative passion for web development that I will strive to use in order to support my team’s goals.
