Ready to join the world’s largest B2B platform for returned and excess inventory?

Consider this your quick start guide to registering on B-Stock as an international buyer. We list all the information you will need to have on hand, including which sellers are available to international buyers and shipping requirements.

Who Can Buy on B-Stock

What You Need To Start Registration

Here is a summary of all the information that makes up your Buyer Profile:

  • Business Name: The name of your business (you won’t be able to change this later!)
  • Business Address: The address you have listed on your business’s tax documents. PO Box addresses will not be accepted.
  • VAT/Reseller tax ID*: This is issued by the state government to authorize the collection of tax at the time of sale to an end consumer/customer. International buyers may know this as a VAT number.
  • Ship-To Address: The location where you will be receiving orders. You may enter additional addresses if you have multiple ship-to locations.
    • Commercial vs Residential: You will also be asked if your address is zoned for commercial or residential and if you are able to unload trucks at this location. This is important for future order deliveries. Check your city’s government website for local zoning maps.
  • Contact Details: Your phone/mobile number for receiving shipping updates, payment notifications, and inventory alerts (per your notification settings).
  • Import/Export Documents: Freight forwarder information is required for cross-border shopping.
  • Responsible Recycling Documents (if applicable): If your business is R2-certified, you have the option to add in your documentation. Certain mobile sellers require this to shop on their storefront.

Tax Information for International Buyers

*Your tax documentation can be called a variety of different names depending on the country, state, or province your business is registered in. Other names you might know this by: VAT, GST/HST/QST tax numbers, reseller tax ID, business tax ID number, seller permit number, sales tax certificate number, or sales tax ID number.

Accepted documentation by region:

  • Canada: GST/HST/QST tax numbers
  • Europe: VAT number
  • Middle East: Business license / UAE: Commercial license
  • Africa: Business license
  • Latin America: RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes)/ RTN (Registro Tributario Nacional)/ etc.

If you cannot provide a business license or tax number, you must provide proof of business in the form of government documentation. Your business name and business address need to be clearly visible on the documents you provide. Invoices are not an acceptable form of proof/documentation.

How To Upload Your Certificate

Pro Tip: The #1 reason profile approvals get delayed is an invalid resale certificate. Double-check that yours is up-to-date!

Freight Forwarding Requirements

International buyers are responsible for arranging their own shipping. If you’re using a freight forwarder with a US address, you must provide a shipping document on the company’s letterhead confirming you are a current customer authorized to use that address.

Here is a sample of what a shipping document looks like:

Common Export Documents

Finally, just a couple of items to note when bidding and buying internationally on B-Stock:

  • International buyers must submit valid freight forwarder documentation to be approved.
  • Payments made from outside the US may be subject to an additional international wire fee by your bank (usually about $25 USD).
  • Sellers have the right to request more information or cancel an order if your documentation is deemed insufficient.
