B-Stock is so excited to welcome Kristina Ngema to the Accounts team this summer! As a summer teammate, we know Kristina will be an incredible asset to the company. Kristina is currently studying Quantitative Economics and Data Science at Smith College. Learn a bit more about Kristina and see her answers to some questions below.

Q: What are you most excited to learn at B-Stock?

I’m really excited to learn more about the recommerce market as well as how B-Stock contributes to sustainability. I am passionate about discovering new business models that leverage technology to improve efficiency, better address clients’ needs, and take care of the environment.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? (Or still want to be!)

When I was a kid, I was torn between being a doctor because I loved the idea of curing people, and a journalist because I loved writing (when I was 9 years old I created a journal on how to save the planet from pollution).

Q: What is one piece of advice you’ve been given that has stuck?

My dad always said to me: “As long as you have health, not just physical but overall well-being, you can overcome anything”.

Q: Where can people find you after work or school?

Taking long walks, or in my room. If you hear lo-fi music as a background, that is definitely me.

Q: What is a hidden talent of yours?

I have been told that I usually come off as a serious person. However, once I get comfortable, I can easily make the entire room laugh.

Q: What plays in the background while you work (music genre, podcast, news)?

Lo-fi music. If I need to really focus, a classic piano piece.

Q: Where would you go with unlimited PTO?

This is a hard question because if I could, I would travel everywhere! If I have to pick, the first 3 destinations would be: Georgia, my mom’s home country (amazing food and hospitality!), Equatorial Guinea, where I last lived before coming to the US (our beaches are so warm, it’s incredible!), and Russia because my family currently lives there and I miss them dearly!

Q: What do you do when you’re stuck creatively? How do you get the creative juices flowing?

Listening to instrumental music/soundtrack from my favorite tv-shows. Especially while taking a long walk, it’s what I call ‘walking into a creative dimension’.

Q: What’s something you’ve accomplished that you’re proud of?

Becoming president of Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society. During my time at community college, that organization truly became my family away from home.

Q: What is one thing you hope to contribute to B-Stock?

I am excited to continue to improve operational processes as well as client experiences on B-Stock marketplaces. I am eager to apply my creative problem-solving skills in upcoming projects with my team and clients.
