I’ve spent a couple of decades helping companies deal with risk inventory: from designing reverse logistics processes, setting up refurbishing operations and establishing remarketing sales channels. Along the way I have developed long-term relationships with a lot of brokers and I have spent more than a decade in a broker role as well.

When I updated my LinkedIn profile to let everyone know about my current position I got some less than friendly phone calls and email messages. My broker contacts saw my championing of B2B auction services as a threat to their business model and wondered why I would turn my back on them. Today I get a lot fewer invitations for lunch or golf.
