B-Stock is so excited to welcome Martin Korir to the Engineering team this summer! As a summer teammate, we know Martin will be an incredible asset to the company. Martin is studying Computer Science at the University of Utah. Learn a bit more about Martin and see their answers to some questions below.

Q: What are you most excited to learn at B-Stock?

Gain the experience of working in a professional environment and learning more about the software engineering field.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? (Or still want to be!)

When I was a kid, I always wanted to be an architect. It just seemed so interesting to me how someone could combine both design and utility to create something meaningful.

Q: What is one piece of advice you’ve been given that has stuck?

On my 18th birthday, my uncle told me this quote that said, “How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail?” That’s always stuck with me.

Q: Where can people find you after work or school?

At the gym playing basketball or reading at the library.

Q: What is a hidden talent of yours?

I’m pretty good at trivia and video games.

Q: What plays in the background while you work (music genre, podcast, news)?

I usually work while listening to ambient music or lofi hip hop.

Q: Where would you go with unlimited PTO?

If I had unlimited PTO, I’d visit all my family and friends living in different countries.

Q: What do you do when you’re stuck creatively? How do you get the creative juices flowing?

Go for a run while listening to music.

Q: What’s something you’ve accomplished that you’re proud of?

Forming my high-school charity club and raising money for an orphanage.

Q: What is one thing you hope to contribute to B-Stock?

During my time here at B-Stock, I’d hope to contribute some of the skills, knowledge, and creativity I have to help build a meaningful and impactful product.
