There are probably an unlimited number of examples of effects like this one. A niche ripple effect of the slowing economy and changing consumption habits that will have major impact on excess and overstock inventory and secondary market activity in an upstream or downstream market.

If I was advising a major player in this industry, a branded auction marketplace to optimize for the secondary market activity that is likely to surge would be high on my list of recommendations.
